Folks,
Two old friends have reappeared. Politics and Religion would like to extend an official welcome to Mark Holland and Steve Shope. These two gentlemen are old cyber friends from the days of Fidonet. Welcome both of you, and please do not be strangers.

New Class
Well folks,
Three weeks ago, I started a new class. This is the one which has come close to frightening me the most. This class is on Homiletics, or preaching. This past Saturday, I had to deliver my first sermon. I was not happy. Preaching is one thing which obviously must be done, and done regularly, in order learn how to do it.

Fumble, Fumble
Folks, those of you who know me, know that I am not much of a football fan. Something happened yesterday, however that I cannot resist posting about. It seems that Dallas had their game all but won, until the ball was fumbled on a field goal attempt. Now it seems that a certain fellow blogger is a resident of Dallas, and I assume a fan of the local NFL team. He posts, during the Fall something he calls the PFW, in which he discusses the chances of a number of different teams, and after the weekend, he posts a recap. I wonder what his comments on this will be? (evil grin!)

How Do We Fix This?
As some of you may know, I consider Jerry Falwell to be more of a political activist than a minister of the Gospel. In this piece, however, I believe him to be right on the money. While it is bad enough that only 15% of our active church members rate their faith as the top priority in their lives, it is even worse that most pastors aren't aware of this! The question is, how do we fix the problem? Unfortunately, I don't have an answer. Perhaps some of you do.
